How rates work

Worker rates are published, not negotiated. Here is what makes up the rate on a booking, and the one lever you have to raise it.

Published rates mean every worker on a booking knows what the work pays, and no crew is pushed below a fair day rate.

  1. A published base rate per trade

Buildpal publishes a base day rate for each trade. It is the floor and the reference for every booking.

  2. A tier premium

Workers with a higher tier earn more for the same work. The tier premium is added on top of the base rate.

  3. Your contractor premium

You can add a premium to make your booking more attractive, for example for a hard-to-fill trade or a tight start date.

  4. An optional completion bonus

You can also offer a bonus for workers who see the booking through to the end.

  5. Always above the minimum

Every published rate sits above the statutory minimum. Contractors don't set worker rates, so crews never work below it.
